Does waxing hurt?

Waxing can be painful, but everyone’s pain tolerance is different! Waxing is a short, stinging sensation which will be gone by the end of your appointment. Remember to let your aesthetician know if the pain is to uncomfortable or you need to take a break. To ease the pain, try taking an ibuprofen before your appointment.

What are the benefits of wax over shaving?

Waxing is a form of epilation which means we are removing hair directly from the root. When removing hair from the root the follicle will begin to weaken which will cause your hair to grow thinner, slower and patchier! When shaving, your hair grows back for most people almost instantly. With waxing you can expect your hair to grow much slower, and after your waxing appointment you should expect to be hair free for 1-2 weeks.

How long will my wax last?

After your wax you should be hair free for about 1-2 weeks. It is important to have proper hair growth to get the best experience possible. After 3-4 weeks you will be ready for your next appointment!

Will my hair grow back thicker and darker?

Accepted Answer

The exact opposite! You’ll notice your hair growing back thinner and patchier after your first appointment.

Can I bring a friend in the treatment room?

Being a home business and also due to COVID-19 I ask you come solo to your appointment! If you are under the age of 18 I do ask to bring a guardian to your appointment, especially if you need moral support!

Can I be waxed if I’m using Retin A, Accutane or Renova?"

Waxing while using these products can be extremely harmful to your skin. This can cause lifting/removing of the skin and can cause permanent scarring. Please advise your doctor before your appointment to ensure waxing is right for you! Please be sure to let your aesthetician know if you are currently using these products or any other medications you are currently taking.

Can I get waxed on my period?

Absolutely yes, please be sure to wear a tampon for your appointment. Waxing on your period can be an uncomfortable experience for some people and you are more than welcome to reschedule. Waxing on your period can also cause excessive swelling and more sensitivity.

Can I get waxed if im pregnant?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Hair maintenance while you’re pregnant can be difficult! Waxing is safe during your pregnancy, but it is important to understand that your skin is more sensitive especially for Brazilians during this time. Due to more blood flow waxing during your pregnancy waxing can cause excessive swelling and redness. It is recommended you book for a hard wax appointment during this time.

Should I trim before my appointment?

You’ll need at least ¼ inch of hair or longer to receive your best wax possible! Trimming your hair can alter the quality of your service if hair is trimmed too short.

How long should I wait to book my appointment after shaving?

When preparing for your waxing appointment it is important to have the appropriate amount of hair growth. Waiting about 2 ½ - 3 weeks should give you about ¼ inch of hair which is ideal to work with.

What is the difference between hard wax and soft wax?

Hard wax has a thicker consistency and when applied to the skin it is left to dry for a couple seconds and then it is removed on it own without a strip. Hard wax has the tendency to grip on mainly to the hair rather than the skin making it an amazing option for clients who are prone to lifting or any skin conditions that may cause sensitivity. This makes waxing more comfortable for clients that have psoriasis, eczema and extremely coarse hair. Hard wax is available for genital waxing and facial waxing. 
 
Soft wax is a thinner consistency that while applied to the skin is removed immediately with a strip. Soft wax works for all hair types is amazing at getting those stubborn, thinner hairs. Soft wax is great for waxing larger areas making your waxing appointment fast and as easy as possible! Soft wax is available for all waxing services.
